189 FOREIGNERS MAY APPLY FOR RESIDENCE PERMIT IN TURKEY

Foreigners who will enter Turkey for Tourism or other purpose by e-Visa, sticker Visa, [Visa-exempt] and require to stay over 90 days / in every 180 day period [to be eligible visas for 90 day in the first 30 days, and 30 day visas before the stay expires] may lodge Turkish residence permit ID card online application to continue to stay legal in Turkey and longer.

On routine there is no condition to buy property in Turkey for short term residence permit or long term the permanent residency permit, and is optional for Turkish citizenship as choice.

The first time short-term Touristic Residence Permit ID Card is permission to live in Turkey only issued to foreigners by Ministry of Interior Directorate General of Migration Management at 250 offices in Turkey (following request and application by foreigner (or representative) with the required supporting documentation, providing she/he fulfills the related conditions) and is allowed to live in our country as foreigner national.

  • A Residence Permit ID Card may be used to enter / exit for Visa-free travel at 66 Turkey airports, 180 harbors and 26 borders of the Republic of Turkey.

  • Foreigner to enter Turkey and convert valid Tourist visa into the 1 year short term Tourism Residence Permit, the Passport should be valid min 12 months + 60 days, and total 26 months for 2 the year, as the first condition.

  • Residence Permits are issued separately for each foreigner, depending on the purpose of stay [in any case] for a period 60 days shorter than the validity period of the Passport or travel document.

    WHAT IS SHORT-TERM RESIDENCE PERMIT?
    .
    Tourism Residence Permit ID Card is issued to individuals and each family member whom enters Turkey by Tourist visa and will stay for touristic purpose with travel plan and accommodation place, whose children will enroll in elementary, secondary and high school, who will search for job, who will rent apartment or house in Turkey to stay.
    .
    Real Estate Residence Permit ID Card is issued to individual and family whom enters Turkey by Tourist visa and buys any value apartment or real estate in Turkey, and guarantees residence extension each year.
    .
    Foreigners to buy any property in Turkey shall qualify for the Turkish citizenship, passport and National ID the e-kimlik after 5 years residence permit duration is completed.

    Foreigners to buy $250.000 USD property in Turkey shall qualify for transfer application to instant Turkish citizenship, passport and National ID the e-kimlik, while to bond a condition not to sell the property for 3 years.

  • Foreigner with Student residence permit ID upon higher education completion must apply within 6 months after graduation for the Touristic residence permit ID card to stay extra period.

  • During a court decision divorced from a Turkish citizen or the death of sponsor, foreigner with Family residence permit should transfer to short-term Touristic residence permit ID card.

  • Foreigners who enter Turkey with Work visa and have Foreigner work permit ID card, upon fulfilling the work permit till the expire date, earn rights to transfer in 10 days to Touristic residence permit ID card to stay in Turkey longer without work, or search for more work again.

    The Touristic residence permit ID card does not require to buy a property in Turkey, to show any qualification, you don’t need to present the proof of Turkish language proficiency, no sponsorship is required, no jobs offer is required, no reference letters are required, does not require continuous stay in Turkey, and will simply expire on expiration date on back of ID card.

    Student Residence Permit is issued to individual who entered with Student / Education visa, who arrived to attend education or similar programs as part of student exchange programs or agreements to which the Republic of Turkey is a party. You may not apply for Student residence permit if you are only enrolled in Turkish learning program. The residence permit is renewed each year with a renewal application, starting from 60 days before expiration date, pending that you continue education. Students to complete 1 year stay may work and apply for Foreigner work permit ID card in Turkey.

    Family Residence Permit is issued to married couples with children who entered with Tourism visa, where one parent is Turkish citizen and the other parent a foreigner citizen. Family Residence Permit is issued for 3 years with no renewal, where after the foreigner spouse is entitled to transfer to Turkish citizenship for family unity.

    Business Residence Permit is issued to individual upto 3 months who entered with Business visa, and who will establish commercial engagement or business connections; If the foreigners demand residence permit more than three months, for this purpose invitation letter or similar documents will be requested from the persons or companies to be contacted. [Supporting information and documentation may be requested by investigating persons and companies when necessary (such as notary public approved certificate of activity, notary public approved tax certificate, notary public approved trade registry gazette, notary public approved certificate of signature)].

    HOW TO LODGE TURKEY RESIDENCE ID CARD APPLICATION TO START?

  1. To prepare travel to Turkey, first obtain your own sticker Visa at visa.gov.tr at the Turkish Embassy / Consulate mission abroad, or if you have (valid Schengen visa in your Passport or valid Schengen, USA, UK or Ireland residence permit at arrival to airport or border) simply purchase online electronic Visa at e-visa.gov.tr the Turkish government official website
